Internship Scope

This internship opportunity is open to penultimate and final-year students studying the following disciplines:

  • Electrical & Electronic Engineering
  • Mechatronics or Robotics Engineering
  • Mechanical / Biomedical Engineering (automation/programming focus)
  • Computer Science
  • Software Engineering
  • IT/Cybersecurity

Expected Learning outcomes:

  • Gain industry experience and work in a professional environment
  • PLC training certified courses from industry leaders
  • Exposure to industrial automation and control systems (PLC & SCADA)
  • Learn full project lifecycle in project management tools such as Jira
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop solutions

Anticipated tasks:

  • As an engineering intern, you’ll undertake a project relevant to your chosen area of study and the length of your internship.
  • During onboarding you’ll undertake key learning activities designed to help you navigate your project from planning to execution.
  • Interns at SAGE get to experiment with new technologies, complete industry training courses, produce professional documentation, interact with stakeholders and work across a main project as well as side project opportunities.
  • A day in the life of an intern includes daily meetings with both local and interstate colleagues, participate in regular check-ins with your project manager, collaborate with stakeholders and work autonomously on your project.

Internship Duration:

  • 8–20 weeks with the flexibility to work part-time or full-time depending on study commitments.

Student Eligibility:

Successful applicants must be:

  • Australian citizens only, residing in South Australia
  • Enrolled in a relevant undergraduate discipline in Adelaide University or Flinders University
  • Eligible to undertake a credit-bearing internship course for this internship experience
