The South Australian Defence Industry Scholarship Program (DISP), funded by Defence SA, offers companies of all sizes in South Australia’s defence industry to host undergraduate higher education students for a semester-long, unpaid internship in 2024.
If you are a small (1-19 people) or medium (20-199 people) sized company in South Australia’s defence industry, government grants to help you recruit, train, and retain undergraduate students into your business are available in 2024.
Small-sized companies can receive $4,500 per student you host, while medium-sized companies can receive a $2,500 grant for each student placed.
Eligible students must be an Australian citizen residing in South Australia, and enrolled in a science, technology, engineering, maths or business degree in one of South Australia’s three universities: Flinders, Adelaide, or UniSA. Students in their final year of their undergraduate degree, or completing a postgraduate Honours or Masters degree, are eligible to receive a scholarship of $8,000 if they are placed with a SME or $10,000 if hosted by a Defence Prime or large company.
Expressions of interest are now open: If you wish to advertise an available internship through the South Australian program for 2024, please contact Patricia Zoltan, Project Officer of the South Australian Defence Industry Scholarship Program, via <defencescholarships@aigroup.com.au>.
Expressions of interest for companies close 15 January 2024.
