Dematec Automation

Better Automation. Better Lives. Stronger Nation.

About the company

Dematec Automation is a South Australian engineering business that assists companies in the defence infrastructure, water, and manufacturing sectors to get the optimum performance and efficiency from their industrial assets.

Dematec’s services range from specification and conceptual design of electrical and control systems at the outset of a project, through to manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and ongoing support of production and process equipment. This means that we regularly get to see the practical outcomes of the work we do.

We’re a team of around 20, with engineers and electrical tradespeople, so everyone is multi-skilled and works across multiple industries, projects, and clients, which means that we get to see a lot of different workplaces and technologies.

Our company offers students the chance to engage in a wide array of activities based around the projects we have underway at the time of their internship. We are looking for electrical, mechatronic, and software engineers.

We foster an environment where individuals who enjoy taking on responsibility, tackling diverse tasks, and approaching problem-solving with enthusiasm can find job satisfaction and a profound sense of achievement.

A few of the notable projects we have underway at the moment are:

–             Design and installation of automated systems for defence infrastructure at the Osborne Naval Shipyard

–             A research and development project for treatment of groundwater for drinking in remote communities

–             Design and installation of a water reuse scheme that takes wastewater and uses it for irrigation for vineyards and council parks and gardens

–             Implementation of the control system software for a new manufacturing plant in the consumer products industry
